Jane Ridout is both artist and musician. Playing a mean fiddle herself, her
sensitive portraits of fellow traditional musicians reflect this dual
passion. Whereas much of her work indicates her own subject preferences,
Jane also accepts commissions.
Whilst oil and watercolour are her chosen paint mediums, Jane's withering
pencil caricatures have punctured many a friend's ego.
Essentially self - taught, Jane has also studied at Bristol, Caerleon
and Newport College of Art. She lives near Pontypool, South Wales.
